When you face against a wall or a door…

When I face against a wall, I have tendency to stay before it until I feel I have done everything I can there so I have to move on. In reality, when I face against a wall, I fail to recognise it as a wall. I see it is a wall when I feel I am repeating the pattern that is frustrating or concerning me.

When I face against a door, I recognise now that I have a choice to open it, ignore it, or keep moving along the wall. It is my decision to whether I want to see the new world or stay in current situation.

Every wall is a door.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Rather than becoming discouraged, know that encountering a wall is proof of the progress that you have made so far.

Daisaku Ikeda

Now when I face against a wall, I know there lies an opportunity for my growth. Whether I like it or not, I know for sure that I have to find the door and open it eventually, soon or later. When I open the door, I always feel that I have broadened my boundaries and widened my world.

I have another choice here. How shall I open the door?
I can keep trying to open the door without knowing what is the key or I will ask for help around me who might have the key to that door. Usually, reaching out for some help is faster than try to find it by myself. However, I always found keys lies within me. Those around me would share how they found theirs and opened that door similar to mine. I never saw the same door twice. It might appear similar but it is different in some way, meaning that need a new key to the door.

You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves.

Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life.

This is not an easy struggle.

Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world for opening.

Daisaku Ikeda

This is where pain and pleasure principle applies, as described by Freud. Simply, human are pleasure seeking creature where we seek gratification of needs which in turn reward us with feeling of pleasure. Oppositely, while we seek for pleasure, we will do anything we can to avoid pain.

I open the door where I can avoid the pain to look for pleasure. Sometime it is challenging to open the door but it lead you to the new world.

Which door have you identified today?
Have you found your key?
Are you ready?
